To make a paper shoe box need: a rectangular piece of sturdy paper, such as cardstock or construction paper scissors, Ruler, Pencil, Glue or double-sided tape. Here are the steps to make a paper shoe box:
Measure and mark the paper: Using a ruler and a pencil, measure and mark the paper with the following dimensions:
Length: 1.5 times the length of the shoe
Width: The same as the length of the shoe
Height: The same as the height of the shoe, plus about 1 inch (2.5 cm) for the lid.
Cut the paper: Use scissors to carefully cut along the marked lines to create the rectangular shape for your box.
Score the paper: Use the ruler and a pencil to score the paper along the length and width lines where you will be folding it to form the box. To score the paper, lightly run the pencil along the lines, without cutting through the paper.
Fold the paper: Fold the paper along the scored lines to create the basic shape of the box. Fold the sides up and the bottom flaps in to create the box bottom.
Glue or tape the edges: Use glue or double-sided tape to attach the edges of the paper to each other to create the box. Allow the glue or tape to dry completely before continuing.
Create the lid: Follow the same steps as above to create a second rectangular piece of paper with the same dimensions as the bottom, but with an extra inch (2.5 cm) of height. Fold and glue or tape the lid edges in the same way as the box bottom.
Finish the box: Once the glue or tape has dried, you can decorate the box as desired with paints, markers, stickers, or other embellishments.
